01 — Roofing Labourer

Starting out. Building your trade.

A great entry point for someone starting their career in roofing or an apprentice developing their skills.

You’ll work alongside experienced roofers, learn the right way to do things and progressively take on more responsibility as your skills and confidence grow.

Pay: $28–$35/hr + super

02 — Experienced Roofer

Independent. Capable.

For roofers who can work semi-independently and consistently deliver quality work.

You'll strip and prep jobs, and be trusted to lay basic sheeting, install basic flashings, stop end to stop end gutters and other roofing components without constant supervision, all while maintaining KOVA's standards for productivity, presentation and workmanship.

Pay: $35–$45/hr + super

03 — Senior Roofer

The experience the crew can rely on.

The one the junior crew members can lean on and look to when there's a problem.

A Senior Roofer is more than someone who can swing a hammer. You'll be able to work unsupervised, and you're someone the Leading Hand can rely on to help keep the job moving forward. You'll solve simple problems, work through more complex flashings and guttering, help spot problems before they become an issue, and actively work with the Leading Hand on sharpening your skills.

Pay: $45–$60/hr + super

04 — Leading Hand

Lead the crew. Own the outcome.

The Leading Hand takes responsibility for the job from start to finish, making it run as smoothly as possible for the best outcome.

You'll set out a plan with the crew, delegate tasks, and be able to plan and carry out complicated flashings, guttering, downpipes and cladding, as well as draw and measure up for materials. You'll maintain a safe and tidy site, spot and solve problems to minimise job delays, and communicate respectfully and professionally with supervisors, clients and other trades, all while representing KOVA and maintaining quality on every job, big or small.

Pay: $64–$75+/hr + super + vehicle
